The LA Times contacted us last week about showing our adirondack design featured on our Product Page. The article ran today and explores a modern take on the adirondack chair. See excerpt below or the link to the L.A. Times article.
It is not mentioned in the L.A. Times article that this chair (and matching line) was a custom design for an individual client and is not currently in mass production. However, Hybrid Design can be contracted to create custom designs for both individuals and for mass production. If enough demand is shown for this adirondack design, we will consider contacting a manufacturer to produce it or a very similar design. If enough interest is expressed in the design we will make an announcement on our website about its production.
Our most recent video project for our friends at Southern Proper. A special thanks to Ben Callner for helping with the camera work and Chris Talley for the original score. We wish Southern Proper the best for their show in NY this week! More Southern Sportsman projects coming soon… stay posted.

Richpower, a powertool company here in South Carolina with a desire to innovate, asked us to design a great concept of theirs. The Pickle Stick is a Lithium Ion powered multitool that has both DIY powertool functionality as well as kitchen appliance functionality. Hybrid provided ergonomic and manufacturable designs that fit the “Pickle Stick” marketing scheme, communicating a unique functionality with a chic and quirky aesthetic that fits into kitchen decor.
So I might be a little behind the times on this, but I just recently discover a great video sharing site called Vimeo that doesn’t make your video’s look bad like youtube. It also does HD video - so I’m hooked. Check out my first video, taken at wife’s parent’s cabin in Ellaville, GA. More to come!
When Goody decided to take their traditional printed brand books to a multi-lingual electronic format, they asked us to create a simple, seamless and user-friendly online experience for their retailers, customers and vendors. Check out the results on Goody.com!
One of Rusty’s good friends from college, Andrew Purdy, found out about Joni and my wedding site and was hooked. He and his fiance, Caroline Fitz-Roy, are living near San Francisco and getting married this May in a small town called San Anselmo, just north of San Francisco, in the foothills of Mt. Tam. I really enjoyed working on this project - thanks and best wishes to both Andrew & Caroline for their big day in May!
When Impulse Technology asked us to help brand and market their new IT Equipment Remarking Software Portal… and make it exciting and fun… we knew we had a challenge on our hands.
They were attending a trade show for the software launch and needed exhibit design, banners, pre-show mailers, sales cards, product cards and more. When I asked - What exactly does this software do? - I’ll be honest, I fell asleep during the answer… but after I came to, I asked for the short and sweet version and got this - “The portal helps our customers effectively manage their equipment portfolio, giving them more free time”. Sounded great to me, no more worrying about IT equipment on the weekends? Now… what would I do if I had my weekends back?
Our new friends at New Spring asked us to help with their first ‘08 message series - “Crank It Up”. They had the series theme and a good idea of the look and feel they wanted, we took it from there! Below is the pre-series invite card and banners with our graphic treatment.
